Ohio's claim to be "the Birthplace of Aviation" is based on the fact that it was the Wright Brothers' home state – even though Wilbur (the elder of the two, by four years) was actually born in Indiana. Kitty Hawk, where they made their first heavier–than–air flight, is in North Carolina.
Ohio has previously used 'The Heart of it All' on license plates.
